Nice pic
Just noticed that all the watches excepting for one-the Lemania 'spravy type', date from well after D-day(the map background). The spravy would have been most likely sused fro CAP over the British & Canadian Beaches:
Sword, Juno or Gold (three of the six).

There were Czech-slovakian units on these, too. Of course Czech-slovakian squadrons and aircrew in the Royal Airforce were present, too related to these.

Are there some pics of US watches for the lovely background map, too? That would be great, imho.

Best regards and nice pic

Default Thank you, A.P.! Some considerations...

Well, the 'theme' here is Lemania, these are my colleciton of military Lemanias (I also have a gold chronograph from the early 50s).

I have to admit I had a lot of trouble finding a background for this picture, perhaps because i so seldom use them. In this case, I wanted

-- military theme
-- preferably around WWII and European, since the watches date from the 30s-60s
-- public domain, so no copyright issues
-- colorful, recognizable even with most of the image cropped/obscured

There here it is, maybe I will be able to make the next backgroud to my watches more relevant.

I like the pic very much. Lemanias are lovely watches. I especially like the Czech-slovakian one. With the disparate nature of them serving in different times and places, and with different militaries, it seems rather hard to find a 'perfect' backdrop at least in so far as maps are concerned-I would love to see the Spravy Lemania by itself, as it has such a lovely case and is such a classic, imho.

Great pic. Look forward to seeing more.

Best wishes,
AP
